dark days week seven - happy local new year to you!

another great local eating weekend is in prep and the smell of it all has got me quite excited. the nose is pleased, the eyes are wide and the palate is ready ready ready.

what's in the works for today? a more truthful question might be something like what's in the works for today and this coming week's worth of left over goods?

taste this...
  • braised beet greens - homegrown
  • steamed cauliflower - homegrown
  • herb rubbed roasted chicken over a bed of stewed maters, crimini mushrooms, garlic and leeks - home raised, home grown, texas mushrooms
  • herb rub consists of ginger, garlic, rosemary, oregano, sage, marjoram, winter savory, lemon juice, salt and pepper - all but the salt and pepper grown right here at home
sound good? yup to me too.

after a few bites...
guess who's heading toward a squeaky clean plate?
yup that's me

- for the finish -
canned homegrown peaches straight out of the jar
