i'm fixing a cold where the rain got in

later than later, i decided it was time to do something about this cold i've got. i am not one who leans toward the search for the perfect pill when this or that might not feel just right nor am i some ayurvedic wonder. i just avoid medication anytime i can. better to understand you own body with said the wolf...

so i'm fixing myself up a bit of a wonder mix for a soothing evening tonic. the ingredients are as follows.

  • a glass of milk
    • a glass the size you like
    • i'm using 1% milk
  • one star anise
  • three whole cloves
  • a pinch of ground cinnamon
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper
    • i'm using two
    • tired of the cough, it's gotta go
  • a pinch of cardamon
  • a pinch of ground clove
    • yup clove twice
  • a tablespoon of local honey
    • local honey helps you tackle local allergies
    • good reason to buy local honey
    • eat a teaspoon a day to help combat allergies
    • go to the doctor if you have to as well
      • no use getting crazy about things
ok, just wisk all this together and heat slowly of medium low heat. pour in a glass and enjoy. this is not guaranteed to work but you may like the overall taste of it just the same.

Hey Chick. Sorry to hear you’re feeling down. Curl up with a good book, sip away at that hot toddy and get some rest. Tilled the vegetable garden last night. Considering planting a few things tomorrow - potatoes, peas, swede turnips, onions, radishes. They can handle some cold, had snow a few nights ago but expect it will start to warm up. Usually plant no earlier than May 24th. Have noticed a few old-timers are starting to put their gardens in, everyone is saying we’re in for a hot dry summer.

Have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the photos of your garden and reading of your adventures. Hope I’m not intruding. Take care and get some rest can’t imagine anything keeping you down long.

hello robert, thanks for the good wishes. i got hit with serious sinus, chest and throat issues, not fun at all. i'm mixing up the treatment, some over the counter meds(which i'd rather not take) with an hourly treatment of apple cider vinegar. the two together seem to relieve some to do some good. you don't really appreciate breathing until the effort to do so is challenged.

your planting plan sounds great! spinach can freeze and come back too.

re: heat - yup, it's been super hot here. the heavy air in the past few days has forced me inside. work too hard, body bites back hard. i need to work on that moderation thing.

enjoy the gardening!
